TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

If you choose to keep the guy who worked for the bigot company in the thread but not the queer people Ernie was attacking as recently as this last week, then that speaks more about you than anyone you'd be warning. If you want to protect nazis more than you want to protect the queer people on...

D&D 5E Which was the most recent Wizards adventure you consider a classic?

Just remembered this thread and came in here to say age of worms, that one's definitely a classic. God, I don't even know a good way to get it nowadays though. I guess hunt down the dungeon issues it was in? Double-checked and paizo sells them, so that's nice at least. That's one that would make...

TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

Hence why I think there should be a lock if there's going to be a requirement on waiting to talk about him. It's not easy to keep decorum when discussing someone who advanced the idea that you should not exist. Even if it wasn't as direct as his friends, he was still posting stuff up to this...

Cubicle 7 Announces New Horus Heresy RPG for Warhammer

It's a genuinely sick as hell concept for an RPG, basically FTL in tabletop form with the fleet management stuff. Having two characters, one a space marine consul (chaplains/librarians/champions/etc) and the other a mortal to do skill stuff, that's also rad.

TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

It might be worth locking the thread for a while if you do not want people discussing the harm he caused. Because for some of the people on here, that harm was hugely impactful on their lives. I'm trying to be as delicate in saying that as possible.

    BROKEN WEAVE - Need Help

Another in a long line of dnd books that doesn't really work by itself, but is FANTASTIC for tearing out good ideas and using them elsewhere. Planning on stealing tons of this stuff for trespasser/shadowdark games. I don't own any other cubicle7 stuff, so I dunno if they all have as many...

D&D 5E Which was the most recent Wizards adventure you consider a classic?

ToA has like a whole extra adventure add-on that fills quite a few holes, gives NPCs more to do, and takes you to higher levels. Which is neat, but really the thing I'd like most for it is filled hexes. I know not everything can be wolves upon the coast but that should be the ideal for any hexcrawl.

D&D 5E Which was the most recent Wizards adventure you consider a classic?

DotMM is a weird one because I think it's the only truly great 5e adventure, but it also has obvious problems. There's a little booklet on DM's guild, old school guide to dungeon of the mad mage, that fixes pretty much every problem I have with it by making it way easier to restock. Makes it...

Worlds of Design: What State is Your State?

Basic idea it's a post-apocalypse world for like the 7th time over, each time leading to a reduction in technological advancement but bringing people closer together because they have to be to survive. There are no great nations, the largest remaining "civilization" is a fortified city-state...

RPG CROWDFUNDING NEWS – Gods of the Forbidden North, Lady Pirates, A Perfect Rock, and more

Like I mentioned, a single dungeon can be a sandbox. Even a small one, you can do a five room dungeon and still hit that feeling. It has to be open to player choice and interactivity, where players have stuff to do beyond just rolling dice.

RPG CROWDFUNDING NEWS – Gods of the Forbidden North, Lady Pirates, A Perfect Rock, and more

I would say that having a sandbox nature is important to OSR in general. It doesn't have to be a BIG one, it can literally be like a single dungeon. But also the adventure was sold as a hexcrawl, pointcrawl, and megadungeon for each book respectively and the hexcrawl book isn't very good at...

RPG CROWDFUNDING NEWS – Gods of the Forbidden North, Lady Pirates, A Perfect Rock, and more

Yeah I wanted to avoid bringing it up if no one else had because it seemed a sensitive topic.

OSR Does anybody know anything about this OSR adventure: Gods of the Forbidden North?

Worth mentioning the trailer for the new book is AI. It doesn't matter as much as the other stuff, but it's more for the pile.

Shadowdark Arcane Library Western Reaches KS

If I had to pick any one rpg product I'm most likely to purchase, it's a good hexcrawl. There's a couple good shadowdark specific ones that've been made, someone made a whole skyrim one. Adds extra skyrim stuff to shadowdark, and has a fully filled out hexcrawl.

Shadowdark Arcane Library Western Reaches KS

Hot damn, I love a good hexcrawl and Kelsey is one of the best in the biz right now so that's exciting.

Shadowdark Arcane Library Western Reaches KS

Have they said anywhere if this is like a hexcrawl? Or is it more of just a general setting guide?

RPG CROWDFUNDING NEWS – Gods of the Forbidden North, Lady Pirates, A Perfect Rock, and more

It's basically a 5e adventure path sold as an OSR sandbox, and I really don't like 5e adventures. It misses the point of OSR pretty badly. Also there's just way too much unnecessary info in it with not a lot of interactivity. There's also some "outside the book" problems that aren't really worth...

RPG CROWDFUNDING NEWS – Gods of the Forbidden North, Lady Pirates, A Perfect Rock, and more

Gods of the Forbidden North 1/2 were really disappointing to me so even though it'll leave my collection incomplete I'm skipping 3.
