Any idea if there will be new stat blocks for monsters in this? I kinda doubt it, but I haven't seen one way or the other yet.

Unsure if it's been noticed yet, but Psions can cast spells without verbal components, and Power Word Kill is on their spell list. That spell has only a Verbal component, so even monsters that have counterspell, like the lich, have no way of stopping it.

Absolutely! It makes sense to me to flesh out Intelligence, IMO.

I find it interesting that the two classes they've added via UA, the Artificer and the Psion, both use Intelligence as a primary ability.

It was pointed out in the other thread that the Crystal option for the Astral entity spell sounds a lot like a shardmind, from 4e! That'd be neat to see!

I started in high school with Pathfinder! I really enjoyed it, but Life Stuff got in the way for a while. A college friend (who sadly is no longer with us) got me into D&D, and I've tried a few other systems for one shots and the like.

Having read the UA, I gotta say, I'm a big fan!! There's always gonna be things that could be tweaked, but this feels ambitious in a way I like. And the metamorph subclass is chef's kiss. So groddy in a fun way!

I've been rereading the older Ravenloft books to see what WoTC might draw inspiration from, and I really like the Arak from Shadow Rift. They're neat Fey tied to shadows, and they come in 9 different varieties, each with unique abilities and alignments. Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft name...

I really hope we get more Dark Sun at some point. I'm slightly hopeful due to those references, but I won't hold my breath. There's so much in Dark Sun that remains relevant, especially the environmental aspect.
