Encourage people to ask questions. I feel like a lot of people feel like they need to know every aspect of the game when they go in, but that isn't true. If people felt like they could answer questions more, more people would get into dnd and ttrpgs in general!

I would argue that Barovia counts. Strahd had kind of killed religion in the area, and people feel really hopeles. You could certainly run a Curse of Strahd game godless if you wanted.

It was really good! I'm getting back in the swing of DMing and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Because of timing we had to stop in the middle of combat, but we pick up this weekend and I am really excited.

I think this is a great idea! It gives you a way to tie your players into the world that you want to build. It could also give them good NPC connections in world and help them feel more t ease with rp.
