    Playtest Feedback (last 4 weeks)

I think that one option for players that want to focus on defense would be to add career level exploits or even just regular combat exploits that give a variety of situational defense bonuses; like ignoring covering fire, inability to be pinned down, etc. The Jedi already have a flat defense...

CITY OF BRASS: A New RPG Electronic Tool Suite Is Glimpsed On The Horizon!

As one of those 15 people who have been using the software I'd just like to chime in to say that I've been immensely impressed with the functionality and intuitiveness of the software. The software is truly system neutral, and we've played active campaigns in Pathfinder, 5th Edition, NEW, and an...

    SOAK and damage types

Thanks for the reply, that clears it up a bit. We won't be playing until Tuesday. What about weapons that do special damage types? These are the damage types listed in the weapon list, along with my assumptions: Ballistic - Soak Applies, this is bullets and other projectiles Stabbing - Soak...

    SOAK and damage types

While I'd guess this has been addressed somewhere, I can't find it in the playtest document and it isn't really made clear. How does SOAK (unspecified) affect different types of damage? It appears to soak all kinds of damage, with a few exception spelled out as follows: SONIC: Sonic damage...

    Playtest Feedback 4/9 (combat)

I'd say that that career path doesn't even seem especially contrived from a story/flavor standpoint which is a common failing of min/maxing. Even picking marksman every time could be a character being obsessive about his sniper skills (like a superhero-style sniper).

    Playtest Feedback 4/9 (combat)

I preferred the lower defense game, but like Wrellin and Lucas both mentioned, it seemed too low. In the battle Lucas described the character who was killed by running out into the open had already been shot at and hit three times despite waiting in cover, giving the impression that cover was...

    Playtest Feedback 4/9 (non-combat)

I was that player. I hit with three lightning bolts, but also missed with two and used my psychic shield. I didn't think that the damage was overly penalizing, but I happen to have a pretty solid END. I prefer the idea of a different resource being burned up before causing actual physical...

    Playtest Feedback 4/1

I'm with Lucas on this one, but only one rank seems extreme. It may be a good default though, with a profession rider allowing something greater. For example, the military cadet profession could have a 2nd or 3rd repeat of "Your maximum rank in marksman and melee weaponry increases to 2" or...

Playtest Feedback: Character Creation (session 3/25/14)

I was one of the two players with psychic job trees. I think it may be useful to have a "wild talent" career or something thematically similar that suggests a person uses their psychic energy to support a life or career that isn't necessarily based around it. This would be a character who is a...
