Monte is a good creative designer but not good at math, thats why most of the math was changed from 3.0 (where he did most of the heavy lifting) to 3.5. Personally I am glad he is not involved with 4e.

Hey what about the way magic item powers are discovered? Is it easier for characters to "guess" an items power w/ detect magic? What about identify?

Heck even the DMG agrees with the fact that heroes are a head above the rest. (You may allow rerolls if you total ability +´s amount to 0 or less, or if 13 is your highest score) or something to that effect.

Let me ask you something...If the clerics had a free martial weapon proficiency in their dieties favored weapon, who would play a cleric whose patron has a quarterstaff or dagger for a favored weapon? I'm sure that there would be some brave players that would, but 95% wouldn't.

Is OID a cumpulsion spell? I think I saw Prestige Class somewhere that grant you immunity to cumpulsion effects. DotF maybe.
