Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

Have they? From what I've seen it seems to be almost exclusive BLM's creation. At most they've said that Chris and Jeremy have designed homebrew on demand.

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

I like some "pundits" as Mike Shea calls them. Mike's Lazy DM Talk Show is one, also Shawn Merwin and Teos Abadia's Mastering Dungeons. Guys can be very critical without falling into clickbait or axe grinding.

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

I don't know if he lies knowingly or not, but he seems to have an axe to grind against WotC and it's always attributing malice or underhandedness to their actions. First time I heard of him was during the OGL fiasco and he seemed to have first hand information during that time. I think his...

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

Finally got the time to sit down and watch Glicker's "analysis" and boy is it a doozy. He's not claiming WotC "bribed" Critical Role but almost all the way around. Like Critical Role went to the negotiating table to tell them "We are going with Daggerheart, but if you 'advertise with us' we...

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

No, they are saying it because "Pathfinder outselling 4e" is a myth that has been debunked by the people who were there at Paizo and WotC https://alphastream.org/index.php/2023/07/08/pathfinder-never-outsold-4e-dd-icymi/ ICV2 data is just a data point but it's not good to draw conclusions...

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

You're mixing up a lot of things here. D&D Beyond has been a sponsor for Critical Role since the beginning of Campaign 2 on 2018 and Campaign 3 which began in 2021. WotC acquired D&D Beyond on 2022. I don't know how those contracts go, but I assume the lump sum of sponsorship money is given at...

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

I think, at worst, It can be speculated that D&D Beyond wouldn't sponsor them as before if they went with Daggerheart (and who could blame them if it were the case). Then the guys ran the numbers and decided to stick to D&D, and then Crawford and Perkins convinced them to move to 2024 rules as...

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

Even if what Glicker claims was true (which coming from him, I sincerely doubt), why do you have to paint it as a sinister underhanded move when at worst it's just business? I'm sorry but it's really hard to take those sort of claims seriously when presented like that.

Haven't they been dropping viewers in general since the end of Campaign 2?

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

I'm finding the attitude of some DH fans very self defeating in this regard. "How can I convince someone else to play the game when they see their creators don't have faith in it?" My brother in The Everlight, YOU are the one generating the discourse.

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

I love how the theory that Daggerheart and CP and JC moving to Darrington was some sort of declaration of war against WotC and D&D is crumbling

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

How? Isn't the game fun? Who said they arent using it? Age of Umbra's still a thing and it will be ongoing. Why does it matter if they play it or not as long as it gets support and the game is good and fun? This is the part I really don't get. It gets a bit parasocial, to my eyes. Like I'd...

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

For real! People somehow bought the idea that Darringtong and Daggerheart were somehow taking the fight against WotC and with CP and JC moving to Darrington it was sign that they were somehow enemies or rivals? Some people are definitely having a normal one about it and it's kinda sad to see...

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

Not true. Matt has said multiple times that they switched because 5e was simpler and D&D had more name recognition. The endorsement money came later and not even through WotC but with D&D Beyond as a sponsor before WotC bought them.

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

The moment they announced BLM as the GM I knew D&D wasn't off the table. Daggerheart fans are taking it rough though, like this is some sort of betrayal and will doom the game... And I just don't see it unless the fans themselves leave the game because of this decision, which is a bit dumb...

D&D 5E (2014) Alternate Covers of Upcoming Forgotten Realms Books Revealed

To be honest, the spine and cover inconsistency is the main reason why I always get the standard covers anyways... I'm weird like that but I'm sure I'm not the only one
