War of the Burning Sky Campaign Saga Subscription

I agree that some sort of pre-view with an outline of the adventure path would be the only thing that would get me to subscribe. If I don't know what the adventrures are going to be like I'm not interested in paying in advance for things I might not be able to use.

What do Enworlders do in real life?

For the last 2 years I have been working in the design department of a gaming ticket manufacturing company. I design games, catalogues, web content and marketing materials. I also do some pre-press. Before this I was a copywriter/graphic designer in advertising and before that, pre-press for...

    Are you off today?

Kinda sad, that. I'm fairly certain that Memorial University here in St. John's was closed, what with it being a war memorial and all. Of course July 1 is still Memorial Day here, remembering the WWI dead on the occasion of the anniversary of the first day of the Somme offensive. Hard to sync...

Can you spot the fake smile?

15/20 - Not bad I suppose, but 3 of my mistakes were really fake. I am too trusting I suppose. That would explain a great deal actually. :)

    Kloogewerks, where art thou?

I just decided to have a try at Kloogewerks (because OpenRPG is making my brain bleed), and went to their web address. I was greeted by a white screen and the word "illusion". Have they been hacked? Gone out of business? Abducted by 3.0 gnomes? Inquiring minds want to know.

    Omnium Finis Immenet

According to a student of Latin on a blog: " 'Imminet' is the present tense third person form of the verb 'immineo', meaning 'to loom', 'to threaten', or 'to be imminent'. So, putting everything in context, the translation is 'The end of the world is imminent'. But then, you had probably...

    Calling All Canadians!

St. John's, NL here. History Moment: The Newfoundland Regiment at Beaumont Hamel, 1st Day of the Somme offensive. Not technically Canadian history as Newfoundland was a separate country then, but an important (and tragic) part of the WWI events that eventually lead to Confederation with Canada.

    Iron Kingdoms players handbook opinons

I think they meant that every magical (as opposed to mechanikal) item would have a story becuase they are harder to make and rare now that mechanikal items are availoable. By the way, is there any indication when this Liber Mechanika will come out?

    Rules Void?

Biblical would be Testament from Green Ronin Lovecraftian is probably d20 Call of Cthulu, which is based on D&D, not d20 Modern Sorcery & Steam by FFG and (I think) Iron Kingdoms by Privateer Press cover steampunk. Sex is dealt with by Valar Project's Book of Erotic Fantasy

    Khorvaire:Two Problems

First off, who peed in your cereal today? Second, try these figures on for size. Khorvaire has an area of some 9.3 million square miles. It has an estimated population density of 1.6 per square mile. 14th century England had a pop.density of about 42/Sq. Mile Let us assume that before the...

    Rate King Arthur [Spoiler-Free]

A quick search indicates that the item depicted was invented in ancient China and had arrived in the Middle East by the 7th century at the latest. So, not perfect but not that far off that it can't be overlooked in the name of fun. :D

    Rate King Arthur [Spoiler-Free]

I agree about the scenics. As for the battles, I liked them far more than those in Troy, because even when shot from a distance they looked real. The battle closeups in Troy were good, but the CG was a little too obvious in the long shots (and I liked Troy BTW). I thought the Saxon leader was...

King Arthur review in Boston Globe

We, as one who dosen't give a rat's nbehind about what the self-appojnted doyens of "quality cinema" (critics) think, I'll put forward that in my personal opinion, it was an excellent film. It was exciting, well acted for a period-action film and the props and such "felt" right. It may not be...
