    Wizards cust serv phone number?

I have successfully straightened badly bent plastic D&D minis by using a hairdryer to soften the plastic. Very little heat is needed. I used the lowest setting, held the mini about three inches away from the dryer and gently bent the part I was unhappy with. Keep holding the part you are bending...

    Tumbling while Prone...

I don't think anything in the rules prohibits "tumble-crawling" specifically, but you should remember that tumbling to avoid an AoO is at one-half your speed in 3.5. I would interpret that to mean that it would require a full-round action (two move actions instead of one) to tumble 5 feet while...

    I'm afraid we've suffered a loss

My condolences. This thread is a testament to the quality of your friend Ted and of all the people on this board. As is the fact that so many of us can grieve so deeply for someone we've never even met before. Everyone please take care of yourselves and enjoy every moment you have.

Ah, here it is in the SRD:

Level Adjustment Races and Starting XP

    D'Oh! I forgot that.
  6. Silver Griffon

Level Adjustment Races and Starting XP

You are correct. The character would start with the minimum XP for level 3, and the DM would use the ECL of 3 to determine appropriate challenges. For everything else, though you would use the actual HD. So your lizard man would have one base feat, quadruple the skill points from his first...

DMs, in your campaign: free ability swaps, or pay for it?

Check out the customized fighter variants in Dragon 310. Very good examples of the right way to modify a class IMHO.

How many have or intend to buy 3.5 books?

I pre-ordered online and received all 3 books. Then I downloaded the SRD and printed out 3 copies for my group. Even the SRD is huge! And yesterday I purchased a second copy of the PHB. OK, the second copy is a gift for somebody else and partly to spread the love to my FLGS. But still, I like...

    3.5 Monster Manual Issues

Personally I think the Lycanthrope rules are great now. I had a brand new weretigress character who was an ECL8 Rogue4 (ECL based solely on the DMG since the DM did not have SS). In human form she was way too weak to be wandering around with 8th level adventurers. Low hit points, few feats, and...

[3.5] Perform -- Does it annoy you as well?

But according to Looney Tunes they do all have helmets with little cow horns. :p

[3.5] Perform -- Does it annoy you as well?

Exactly. The game benefit of having multiple styles may only come up on rare occasions, but rare occasions are what being prepared for anything is all about. I had to redo my bard the other day and I was pretty upset at first too. I had already well established the character as a singer and...

Re: Re: Re: [3.5] AoO provoking AoO Oh no!!! It's the Magic: The Gathering "stack"!

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Monks and two weapons

Does the monk description still say that there is "no such thing" as an off-hand attack for a monk striking unarmed or with a special monk weapon? If so, then you could hardly use a feat that reduced your off-hand penalties... On the other hand, if it does not say this anymore than I would have...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Please Confirm 3.5e Tumble

IDHMBWM, but the new PHB combat section has an entry for what to do when you "accidentally" end up in an illegal square. I believe you wind up in the nearest possible open space. I kind of like the prone idea though as opposed to winding up 10 or 15 feet away from where you were headed.

What about in the description of the revised Two Weapon Fighting? Does it shed any light?

    Gnome druid build

Very true. But, most of them require your divine focus. I got around this by tying a spare piece of mistletoe to a loop of twine and giving it to another party member with instructions to put it around my neck when I took animal form. As far as feats, my gnome druid took the feat from Dragon...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Tumble

No optional rule needed Use the rules, luke. If you see that a tumbler is involved in the combat, ready an action to hit him as he tumbles by. You aren't making an AoO so the tumble is irrelevant. I love the look on their faces when they get whacked during the middle of a tumble they just...

The worst nightmare for gnomish parents...

I kind of like a celtic or gaelic feel to gnomish names. My gnomish druid's name was Dynan Oddcub o' Fintain Gilla Finnliath mac Crimthain. (After he shortened it a bit to aid in dealing with the less verbose races. But they all called him "O.C") He was eaten by an umber hulk last night. :(
