I was reading through grim tales and stumbled upon the armor as damage conversion rule variant. I like the variant, but wouldn't this variant make undead much stronger, being immune to non-lethal damage ?

My method Max hp at 1st (and 2nd level if they are new players), then take average rounded down or roll. I think rerolls of 1's and 2's are a bad idea because that rule favors low die classes, like wizards. Take maximum all the way hp is a bad idea, because it favors classes with high hit die...

I have a question about gaming. As a DM I was pondering on this question: how do you avoid that the outcome of social situations in a game (like convincing a local lord to help or trying to get a villian to release you) is a result of a dice roll and not of roleplaying. I have problems with...
