I'm considering dropping Pathfinder to return to D&D 2e.

Start with 1e (or clone) and then house rule the hell out of it. That way stuff from OD&D is easy to use, 2e is just up the block and custom in the later stuff. There is so much stuff online, both old and new that blended with what you already have you can have a blast. :)

    Design / Layout Question-Rule Book

Thank you! Now we are getting somewhere. I appreciate all the notes. And agree 100% with the 'fresh eyes'. That's one of the reasons why I started this thread. I'm still fairly new to Enworld so I have a large gaming community to interact with that has no idea what the project is. As I said...

    Design / Layout Question-Rule Book

Just looking for linear or non-linear presentation. If I might ask, what is your favorite RPG? (The reason for my questions-I am finishing a player handbook and am looking for feedback on layout. I will be play testing 2 versions but the test group may be small so I like as much info as...

    Design / Layout Question-Rule Book

Really it's very simple. So you prefer your class / character information spread out through the publication. Thank you.

Please help me find a new gaming system!

I haven't seen the Microlite systems mentioned and I have to say it has really hooked me. From bare essentials to full blown systems built on the engine it is great if you like a modular plug and play system. My favorite is a stacked out Microlite 20 with a lot of my own tinkering. The great...

    Large Print Rulebooks!

For one who is not opposed to PDF you can already do this. Leave it up to the brains at Adobe to not emphasize this is possible, but in Reader under View-->Zoom at the bottom of the menu is Reflow. Any text based document will now allow you to increase and decrease the font size (I hold down...

    Large Print Rulebooks!

This is a good topic to find at this time. I'm working on a fairly large project and have been studying the layout and formatting of publications, trying to be inspired by the work of others. I have needed glasses my whole life but in the last few years it has gotten really bad, so I can...

Is a retro-clone the right game for me?

The community is quite large and growing everyday. I built my own aggregator site (Eternal Keep) just to keep up with all the blogs (of which I have 230 listed so far and many more to add). I have found a home with the Microlite series. Considering they cover everything from OD&D through Modern...
