Thanks for all the replies. I do know all the modifiers and what not im just wondering about the amount of time. My party was searching a building and it took us 4 hours to do so. And it was only about 30 squares. I argued that it would only take a move action per square. Or even just looking...

I was reading up on perception and can't find anything about search I.e. I search for traps, hidden doors, my pen ect ect. Under perception it says it's automatic as a reaction or a move action to intentionally perceive. Is there something special for searching for previous stated items.
