Øone's Blueprints: The Great City
As I'm going through some nostalga and cleaning up the old apartment, I came across my old Ennies disk that had the Øone stuff on it. Now it'd been a while since I last popped the old disk into the system and I figured it'd be a good chance of pace from the Goodman Games stuff I've been reviewing.
The product is a 25 page PDF. It's $1.65. The maps are similiar to those found in Goodman Games Dungeon Crawl Classics in that they're 'blue'. They're also printable in black.
The maps cover the 'Great City' with an overview and then with six seperate up close images. They also provide numerous spots that the GM can swipe into his own game. These are nothing more than a number and a reference like Djanna, the House of Pleasure in the Dock Ward or The Seven Angels Tavern in the Residence Ward, but as a long time gamer, these little things are often the bread and butter of the game. Much like with the GM Gems from Goodman Games, certain things will get used over and over again.
The file also makes some good use of the PDF technology. There are two check marks, one for the trim marks around the map and another for the numbers. This allows you to give players descriptions of where things are and a map without them knowing exactly where to go.
In the end, for $1.65, your definately getting you money's worth. For those who need some more inforatmion, check out a preview at the bottom of the page and see for yourself.
