You know.. I hadn't thought of this, but I get where you're coming from. I think it really depends on the overall vibe though. If it's attempting to be a serious action/drama show along the lines of Game of Thrones, or Wheel of Time.. I feel like cutaways to the "Players" behind the characters would undermine the attitude of the show. Whenever I imagine a potential D&D show I always assume it's going to be a drama set in a D&D setting.. Most likely the Forgotten Realms. Perhaps a dramatization of the Drizzt story, or now with the popularity of BG3, I could see a continuation/prequel of that story. With that said, I hadn't considered maybe a lower stakes, less dramatic show. Maybe not full blown comedy but something akin to The Princess Bride. Light hearted, but heart felt. Cut back and forth between the party in-universe, and then their players at the table. Make it episodic in nature, and every few episodes you could have different Dungeon Masters, which could change the whole tone of the show. I think this actually has a lot of promise. There could be two major plot lines running. The Real-Life plot, and the In-Game plot. Maybe focus it around teenagers. Issues at home or school present in character.. This could really be something.. Probably something that a lot of people adore, and it gets abruptly canceled after two seasons anyway.
