Today's update was light on content but heavy on bug fixes. We had over 300 fixes go in with this patch. Many of these address stability issues, character features that were not being displayed or factored correctly, and some usability issues within character creation.

Looking Ahead

With a couple releases for the web-based character builder and a good amount of bug fixes behind us, we have a pretty good idea of what the near future holds. Over the next few months we’ll continue to address bugs as they come up and add in any new content, but we’ll also be focusing on adding in new features to the Character Builder. Here’s a look at the basic features we’re working to add over the next few updates:

* Adding a classic character sheet option based on the original 4E character sheet.
* Adding a math sheet to the character sheets that shows the math involved in various aspects of the character.
* Redesign the equipment/store interface to be more user friendly.
* Implement a character sharing option so that others can view your character.
* Implement custom items into the equipment section.

We also have the web-based Adventure Tools beta that we’re still working on – expect to hear more news on this in the coming weeks. Until then enjoy playing around with the new content, and stop by the D&D Insider and Character Builder forums to join in on the conversations.

Hmmm... I wish I could see a list of bug fixes.

That list of bug fixes is immense!

:P

I like some of the upcoming features listed- also can't wait to hear what's in the Adventure Tools...

Something I noticed right away, when I clicked on "Create Custom Character/Home Campaign" it skipped past the screen asking me what role I wanted to use and took me directly to the list of character classes.

It's a long list of fixes, but at least one of them isn't really fixed.

"Essentials characters cannot choose lower level powers" -- I just confirmed, and I have an Essentials Thief who can only choose level 6 utility powers at level 6, even with "Show Additional Options" selected. That's a pretty big item, too.

I know quite a few people who will be very happy to hear they're working on this.
