In City of Heroes, in the maximum-level Statesman's Task Force, you are batting a supervillain who is bathed in power-enhancing radiation from his web. You have to destroy the towers generating these rays to win. Now and then, repairmen spawn, who try to repair the damage a team of 6 superheroes can inflict. The expected lifetime of these guys is about 1 second, and if they live 3 seconds they can do major damage to the team effort. But they have no attacks, low hit points, and no other defenses. Truly heroic commoners! - or villainous in this case.
