I cant seem to figure out exactly what greater flurry does, as my book only seems to mention in but not explain what it is.

It explains in the text section:
"Greater Flurry
When a monk reaches 11th level, her flurry of blows ability improves. In addition to the standard single extra attack she gets from flurry of blows, she gets a second extra attack at her full base attack bonus."

It adds an extra attack at first BAB value the X (i.e. Monk BAB Attack looks like the X+/+y/+z, example BAB +15/+10/+5 at 20th level).
This is stacks with first one from flurry (1 extra attacks at first BAB value).
So +x/+X/+X/+y/+z = attack line of Monk at 20th.
