1d2, 1d3 - How implemented?

I use a d6 for d2 or d3 (1-3, 4-6; 1-2, 3-4, 5-6).

For percentage chances, I roll a d100 (or sometimes only a d10 if the chance is given in tens (10%, 20%, 50%, etc)), where a low number indicates, that the result which you roll for applies (i.e. miss chance = you miss, stabilize = you stabilize, and so on).

Bye

For 1d3, usually it's 1-2 = 1, 3-4 = 2, 5-6 = 3

This is probably the most logical method. However, I personally use a non-logical method. Since I refuse to use d2 (well, my hate of d2 knows no limits :p ), and that I want to make d3 "farther" than d4, I use this alternative method:
1-2-3 = 1, 4-5 = 2, 6 = 3

For d3 I use a d6 as well. My numbering is 1&4=1, 2&5=2, and 3&6=3.

For d2 I used to use a d4. The numbering was 1&3=1, 2&4=2 (in other words, odds were 1 and the evens were 2). Now I have a d10 that is painted half black and half white (I have a second one that is red and green as well), so I just announce which color equals 2 when I roll it.

I think the general consensus thus far is really that it doesn't matter how you do it so much that it gets done in a random way. So long as the result wasn't guaranteed you are fine.

For a d3 I use my d3 that came with my old Bermuda Triangle board game. You had these little ships that had to make it across the board and there was this big plastic thing that was supposed to be a storm. The ships and the storm both had magnets on them and the d3 was used to determine how far the storm moved.

Since my d3 is nothing more than a d6 with the "1" "2" and "3" repeated I sometimes give it to my players to roll when I'm feeling petualnt.

Thats interesting...
I inherited a bag of dice from my brother in law. In it was a d3. Now I use it.

Or rather, I would if I ever needed to...

Yeah, I like dice that roll, so I use six-sided d3s and eight-sided d4s (with each number appearing twice on the die). For a 50% roll we normally use a d6, which we call out X happens if it rolls low and Y happens if it rolls high.

If you were feeling particularly crafty you could make your own 3 sided die...just three sides that taper to a point on both ends, like those funny cylindrical dice that they have. Then sell them and MAKE MIIIILLIIIOONNSSS....okay...I lied about the millions...
