[2006] Renting a floor at the Embassy Suites

Embassy Suites Question regarding reserving a floor.

Michael Morris

First Post
I asked the desk clerk about what would be needed to get all EN Worlder rooms to be on the same floor. Basically, we'd need to file a request on each of our reservations and make them early enough so that this can be coordinated by the staff at Embassy.

Who's interested in doing this?

I will express interest. As long as I don't have to sign up for anything yet. :)

I think it'd be sweet to have us all in the same vacinity. Like an entire dorm floor of ENWorlders. :)

I really like the Embassy, and it will continue to be my hotel of choice, but I'm not sure this is necessary. The other thing is, when you start asking hotels to do stuff like this, the subject of money eventually comes up. Possibly a lot of money. I'd rather spend less on my room and have to use the elevator, frankly. Heck, I'm starting to think crazy thoughts...like actually getting a roommate next year.

Well, she said there would be no extra charge - just as long as the reservations where in early enough. Further, the rooms Peter donates to the ENnies cause can be on the same floor - all that is required is the request to be placed on the same floor as the rest of the ENWorld group.

I figure an inquiry can't 'hurt' - and I wanted to get an idea for demand before making said inquiry.

As long as there is no extra charge, then count me in. I rarely make my reservation through the GenCon registration process though, and I suppose I'd have to? Or could I just call them and tell them to stick me on the EN World floor?

I'm there. :)

How far are the Suites from GenCon? I've never been there so I know nothing about the layout of the city.

Two blocks from the convention center, connected by skybridge if you are afraid of sunlight or if it's raining. :)

color me interested, it would take some of the burden off of Hellhound and Dextra if we could just go to a different room for a while,

*looks up Embassy Suites on mapquest*

yep count me in unless it gets to be a higher charge or I have to go through the GenCon reservation process
