Tome of Battle got booted for THAT? Tome of Battle is freakin' awesome, I've heard tons of members here and WotC boards say it. Wow, I can tell these polls are being voted on by D&D scrooges. :\
It's the same mechanism as with Big Brother et al. The books which separate the audience into Love and Hate will go earlier than those who a lot of people simply like or dislike. I know a lot of people who swear by Tome of Battle, and a lot of people who regret ever having thought about buying it. But while among the first group people my vote for 20 different books, most from the second group will have voted ToB.

In the end, the least offensive products will remain standing.

"Scourge of the Howling Horde", for horrible use of background colours, such that it was almost illegible, for excessive mechanical errors (especially offensive in a product aimed at beginners), and for having far too little content for it's page-count.

BTW, I would have put Bo9S somewhere in my top-5 list.

Sticking with Dragons of Faerun for the same reasons as last time. At least products like Mysteries of the Moonsea and Power of Faerun, while not quite what I would have liked them to be, had some interesting and useful setting information and history. Dragons of Faerun is just pages of NPC dragon stats, which are only so useful during any given campaign, IMO.

Me too. It's a shame that it's gone, I think this format doesn't really property represent the products that have a vocal audience, either for or against.

I voted for Fantastic locations (Dragondown grotto) for the same reason as before. It's use is limited in my game, and I think it's much more designed for mini fans than rpg "purists" (what ever that means, I use minis/tokens but only for tactical reasons during combat.)

I really wanted to like Tome of Magic, but I just found the Pact and Truename magic to be unuseful, for my campaigns. I wanted the book for the Shadow magic, but when I saw that it was "designed" for Forgotten Relams first, and other campaigns second, I passed on the whole book.

Such a waste,

Why the hate for the D&D Player's Kit? Is it a bad thing to have a starter set for new players?

Yes. D&D is an elitist hobby. We can't just have anyone start playing. They need to go through the initiation rituals first. Preferably with the AD&D DMG.

;)

Cheers!
