I mean, how different is the Basic Rules from an SRD...?Maybe the 5e 2024 SRD can merge with the Basic, hence be available as a document via the CC.

I cant really tell the difference, except the "Basic" has more explanation to walk a player thru the SRD rules ... which might be a better way to present the rules anyway.I mean, how different is the Basic Rules from an SRD...?
The basic rules had the four classic classes with one sub each, five backgrounds (acolyte, sage, criminal, soldier, folk hero and noble) the classic Tokien races but two subraces for each (save human) and I think a few extra monsters and spells. It wasn't OGL though.I mean, how different is the Basic Rules from an SRD...?
OK, but in the future I would expect that to be on Beyond in the Free section.reminder that the SRD has no lore, just has the mechanics, not to mention no rules for character creation. It is emphatically not the same thing as basic rules, which need to be usable by new players.
