2025 Character Creation Challenge & More

Here's a couple more V&V villains from me. These are my players' opponents for our next session. I had them fight super-villains in their first adventure (I had Mercury Mercenary, the Hornet, Bull, and the Mace as the Infamous Four). I figured I would give my players some normal humans (boosted with a couple metahumans) to fight. I'm mainly running the first handful of adventures as super-hero battles to help my players get used to the system (their V&V newbies). I have plans for subplots and other genre conventions in the works but I didn't want to overwhelm my players with too much info for their first games. Here's my villains, Pavo Damage with his small band of henchmen and their metahuman ally, Striker.

Pavo Damage - He's the youngest of the notorious Damage Brothers. He broke away from his brothers because he was tired of being in their shadows all the time. He and his henchmen have crossed into Canada looking for some easy criminal fun. I've included a page for his henchmen in the PDF.

Striker - He was a boxer who was blacklisted by the various boxing regulatory agencies for his corruption for taking Mob bribes to fix his boxing matches. Striker is interested in two things - money and boxing (in that order). He has acquired titanium knuckle-dusters to supplement his boxing skills.

In my Villains & Vigilantes game, my players are underground investigating the disappearance of three electricians and two police detectives that went missing in a new subway extension tunnel. Suddenly they hear a high pitch shrill trilling and they are attacked by giant ants (that are threatening the whole city).

Thermoch the Insect Man: Thermoch (the ch is pronounced as a k) is an Insectoid from the subterranean world of Inner Earth. His people exiled him so he stole a sacred relic of his people, the Myrmex Box, and he is using it to invade the surface world.

Giant Soldier Ant: Giant soldier ants that have been mutated by radiation deep in the bowels of the Earth - a place known as Inner Earth. Now giant ant colonies abound in the Inner Earth. These mutant ants are under control of the Myrmex Box that Thermoch has.

Giant Fire Ant: This species of giant ant lives in the molten core of Inner Earth. They have a natural affinity for heat and can shoot flames from their mouths. They too have been controlled by the Myrmex Box and Thermoch has added them to his ant army.

At the end of my session of V&V (last week), the PCs encountered a humanoid insect man that they first assumed was the culprit behind the disappearances but cooler heads prevailed and through the use of a Tongues spell to translate, the PCs discovered that this insectoid was hunting Thermoch to retrieve the Myrmex Box to his people. He has joined the PCs as an ally.

Shahtek the Hunter: An Insectoid from Inner Earth. He has two sets of arms/hands and is armed with a spear made from a super-alloy metal. He wants to deal with Thermoch once and for all. After all he is a hunter (a position he was born into via his Insectoid caste).

Here's my 1st draft for a Swords & Wizardry character sheet for my current campaign. I'm sure I will tweak sections a few more times before it is ready. A PDF link will be posted once I finish the finalized editing.

Here are a couple henchmen that have joined up with my player's adventuring party in my Swords & Wizardry ongoing game. The players just finished G1 The Steading of the Hill Giant Chieftain. To make a long story short, the PCs aroused the giants in the main hall and the PCs made a hasty retreat into the dungeon level (from the kitchens). They eventually met up with the orc rebels who were leading a resistance to the hill giant slavers. They joined with the orcs and led a rebellion against the giants.

These orcs weren't interested in rampaging and constant warfare so they were sold into slavery to the hill giants by their own orc tribes (who wanted to get rid of such weakness). These orcs called themselves the Tribeless and they want to live out their lives in peace like any other species. They were led by Old Longtusk who forged an alliance with the PCs. After the hill giants were defeated, most of the orcs returned to the wild but two (Krakko and Kro-Ma) were so impressed with the PCs that they've joined the party as Henchmen to the party's human fighter (Goth Maeven) and half-elf fighter/MU (Veryo).
