20th level?

How many of you have characters that reached 20th level within a year playing 4 hours each week or so?

I have run many campaigns using 2nd Edition rules, but no character ever got much above 13th level after a years worth of game play. With 3rd edition my players were 5th level after about 5 months of short weekly sessions (about 3 hours a week).

I am very curious to know if WOTCs predictions concerning campaign lengths versus the expected levels acheived within a years panned out or not.

The first d20 game went about 14 months and we got to 28th level, so I imagine we had 20 levels within a year. Another one we only played for about 7 months and got to 20th level.

Our group has played for about 10 months, and we are around level 12.

Of course when characters die, I have them start off half a level lower then the party, and that has really slowed them down recently.

My group's been running for 15 months. We generally run about once a week, for 6 hours (Although it's an online game, so it takes a little longer in gameplay).

They started at 5th level, and are just now about to hit 10th.

In 1e, playing that character's (F/MU) campaign 4, maybe 5 months out of the year, about 6 hours per weekly session, it took approximately 10 years. In 3e, got a wizard to 7th level, 4 hours per weekly session, in less than 2 months.
