21st-level Sorcerer. What to do?

Felon

First Post
Our DM decided he wanted to see how the upper crust lives, so he bumped our characters all the way up to epic level. What's good for an epic sorcerer? Never gave the epic material much of a look. Advice welcome.

Depends a lot on which kind of sorcerer you have, but for damage, Sorcerer Implement Expertise is good no matter which kind you are playing.

Sorcerous Flux.

That is probably the best sorcerer feat in the game... especially combined with Sorcerer Implement Expertise (they need a new name for that).

The ability to swap your attack rolls around for a power means that you can do the role of a single target striker while still dealing damage to off targets, or that you can move critical hits from minions to normal monsters... or even swap the crit to a solo away from the easily slain normals you're fighting...

...or even just swap it away from the monster you know would be killed by your very consistant normal damage...

OK, Sorcerous Pulse sounds fairly like a must-have.

My AC at 20th level is only 31. Can anyone suggest something I can do about? I'm 7-9 points behind the defenders, 3 behind the other light-armor character(the rogue's), and that just makes me too vulnerable a target, even to marked enemies.

AC 31... so a 21st-level monster will need a 5 on d20 to hit you. Ouch.

Sorcerers usually defend themself by staying as far away from melee as they can to avoid being attacked in the first place. They are usually the squishiest class, even worse than Wizards. Don't even think about Sorcerous Blade Channeling unless you like to be resurrected a lot (and love to see Defenders go facepalm)

That nonwithstanding, reserve a feat slot for either Unarmored agility or leather armor proficiency.

There is a dagger, when held in offhand, gives +1 AC, +1 Reflex. Rhythm Blade its called. Depending on how many feats available, you could get some AC out of staff fighting, TWD and said dagger in offhand. To compare, my sorcerer has ac 37 at level 22. Nothing huge, but definitely better ;)

Also, look for the defensive utility powers, particularly if you're dragon. But Avatars of Chaos works for everyone and ought to keep you safe for most of the fight, for example.

Would you mind posting your feats & ability scores?
