We couldn't get 224 pages for:

Tome of Battle
Fiendish Codex I
Fiendish Codex II
Cityscape
Dungeonscape

Are Drow really popular enough to disregard the popularity of demons, devils, a new addition to the combat system that made a big hit, and two topic environments that need a high amount of material and detail?

WotC is becoming a riot... :p

Yes. Drow are that popular.

I'm a little surprised we haven't seen Drow Magic yet, actually.

Supposedly, Drow sell.

It seems like WotC believes that having the word "Dragon" in the title sells too. :D

What else will sell well? Warlock stuff?

'Fraid they are ... personally I was bored with them a long time ago. But that's just one mushroom's opinion. You might have the same if you had to share space with them down here. Nasty, sneaky, furtive ... AHEM! :heh:

Dark Elves are my favorite NPC race. I also like to use them as PCs when I feel the desire to play against type. Love 'em lots!

I have nothing against Drow and I mostly likely would purchase the book, but to see a book on so specific a race...illithids didn't get this much attention. They only had one chapter in Lords of Madness.

I am bored of drow, as well, but I am sure the book would be great anyway. But what shocked me was they got 224 page treatment as opposed to the ever-common and popular 160-page treatment.

Ah, but drow are photogenic :) I bet there's going to be lots of page-eating piccies of everyone's (apparently) favourite skinny goth-metal race.

Personally, I'm with you on this. Drow bore me silly :)

The original 2e "Drow of the Underdark" was good and told me everything I ever wanted to know about drow to the extent that I thought "the night below" was superfluous. I doubt I'll buy the 3e version unless I read some seriously good things about it.

Now what do you think it'll contain? Easily 50 pages of prestige classes, probably 10 pages of spells, 10 of magic items, 10 of monsters and maybe 20 on deities. Even with feats and full write-up of drow as a PC race, you're left c.100 pages of ... what?
