Yuan-ti
Gith races*
Illithids*

*Tough there is Unveiled Masters for the Illithids, and Planewalker has a good deal of gith info

Those are some real cool races which should be expanded upon (especially the first two, who haven't received any kind of treatment in 3.5... aside from the MM). I love drow, but I'm getting bored with them being -up to a certain point- WotC's focus...

But where's the love for giants? or fey? or oozes?

The first thing that comes to my mind as to which monster category deserves a 224-page book would be:

FEY

What's the deal with this? It's been a lightly touched subject since D&D first began and it's a subject many people would actually love to see written about. I don't understand why WotC has yet to do a Fey book.

But, yeah, a book on Giants would be my second wish for which "Monster Themed" book I'd like to see.

While a 224-page book devoted to drow is a little lame, it doesn't make me retch.

I hadn't really thought about it until you mentioned it here but I think that a giants book would be fantastic. I have seen or used one in a game for as long as I can remember. I really should try to rectify that.

Supposedly, Drow sell.

It seems like WotC believes that having the word "Dragon" in the title sells too. :D

What else will sell well? Warlock stuff?

A month which sees the publication of a Warlock's Handbook will be a month I save some money.

This one will be a pass for me. All it will be is 200 pages of new prestige classes, spells, items, and feats, as well as several new drow subraces!!! :p And about 24 pages of "fluff".

We already have Plot & Poison from Green Ronin which did something cool and interesting with drow, though even it was prestige class, new item and spell happy.

I'd much rather see something done with the Gith races, Yuan-ti, Fey, or Goblinoids. Or Dwarves- you can't go wrong with a big book of dwarves (including deurgar and derro)! Enough with the drow (and elf) worship though- its really old and been done 1000 times!

Drow basically epitomize the kind of prancy-fancy, beautiful-but-so-so-badass, designed-to-look-good-on-the-covers-of-very-bad-novels, played-by-a-fat-guy-with-a-ponytail-and-fingerless-gloves fantasy element that I really, really hate. I'm tired of elves, and I'm even more tired of relentlessly, self-consciously badass elves.

I'd much prefer monster books dedicated to constructs and savage humanoids. And, come to think about it, I wouldn't mind a generic subterranean stuff book, and Drow could have a chapter of that. I guess Dungeonscape will probably have that covered, but I'd like something focused on more the various societies of humanoids and aberrations that coexist (or not) in the Underdark-or-whatever.

Ah, the fetid aroma of gamers who see themselves fit to bash other gamers, based on both playstyle and physical appearance. Class act all the way.

An overweight gamer! Say it isn't so! And playing a thin character no less? I thought we'd passed that constitutional amendment against these...
