Remus Lupin

Adventurer
Well, after a break, we're back with more 24!

Thoughts on tonights episode:

1) Eech! Doesn't look like dying of that virus is going to be pleasant.

2) Did I miss something? Have there always been 11 of these vials floating around? I've been under the impression that we were only chasing one, and that handcuffed guy and briefcase guy bought it. Did I miss something, or did they just spring this on us?

3) I'm currently betting that Michelle survives. Who'll give me odds?

4) Allow me to reiterate, Eech!

5) Sheri and the President. I do wish they'd tie that together with this small matter of the HEMORAGIAC VIRUS floating around!

6) Is it me, or did Jack not have enough to do tonight? Oh well, it gave Michelle a chance to shine.

7) Speaking of which, did anyone really doubt she was going to blow that guy away?

Well, those are my musings. Discuss among yourselves.

It was very brief, but in the last episode they showed the chemist splitting it up from one containers into smaller ones. I don't blame you for forgetting, since it seems like the last episode aired ages ago.

After what they've done with her in the past two episodes she'd better. I think that must be why they gave it a 10% mortality rate rather than 0%.

A'Yup

That plotline has been lame, and his lying to protect her is so un-Palmerlike that I now dislike the character.

I'm hoping that they are CTU ops partners next season.

None whatsoever, but it still adds to her character.

Here's my one complaint about the episode - knowing that he was saturated with the virus and the vent system may have been shut down before it fully spread, why didn't Guale stay in the basement instead of directly exposing himself to the folks on the ground floor?

Not taking that action here. I doubt the writers will go for the obvious by killing off MIchelle. I definitely don't see them killing her off after the end of last night's episode. Why kill off a character when you can have her tortured over something she's done, even if it was necessary.

So Guile thinks to turn off the fans now? Brilliant! ;)

Guile leaving the basement wouldn't have mattered - the virus spread throught he air vents in less than an hour, and along with the recycled air there was little to no chance anyone would be un-affected.

This episode so let Michelle shine, it would be such a shame to see her die. If I were a betting man, she'll survive and her antibodies will be used to create some sort of vaccine/cure. That's the one flaw in the bad guy's plan that I can see. Especially since they now have a thousand people in whom to track the progress of the virus.

Anyway, he handling of the situation was great, from the hotel manager to the employee trying to escape and the man breaking the window. Michelle is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine.

Kim did something, and wasn't annoying! Yay! If we never see that baby again I would die and go to heaven. This is the Kim Bauer we need to see more of.

Again, I am completely failing to have any caring about the President's storyline. I really just don't care about him, Sherri, Wayne, Julia, or any of them. Actually, that's not true. I like Dennie Haysbert as President Palmer, and would hate to see him leave the show. Beyond that though... I'm almost hoping Palmer loses the presidency.

BTW, do you think that the guy who gave Amador the bomb knew it was in the case. Or was Amador not supposed to open it immediately?

No, but Jack wouldn't have warned the guy and he would have cut the guy's head off to boot. :)

I know from reading spoilers that somebody is going to die, somebody who "will upset viewers". Beyond that, the spoiler wouldn't say.

Any links on the spoiler sites?

Ok, how are the possibilities for a character whose death will upset the viewers:

1) Jack, obviously, would be upsetting, but I doubt it.

2) Michelle is the current most likely subject, given her proximity to the virus. If she dies, it would be upsetting. If she survives, the producers could be accused of being uncharacteristically sentimental.

3) Kim ... wouldn't be upsetting.

4) Chase? Well, I think he's had a target on his back since that baby showed up.

5) President Palmer? Well, since he seems to exist in an alternate universe where this crisis isn't taking place, I find that suspect. But it's possible, and it would be poetic justice for his sudden case of moral flexibility.

6) Tony? Possible, but again, he's a bit far removed from the action at this point. Unless we go back to the "Nina has HIV" possibility. But again, that would be death in very slow motion.

My best bet right now is that either they'll go with the obvious and kill Chase, or else Michelle won't be among the 10% or less who are virus resistant.

Other thoughts?
