"24" really is becoming a parody of itself.

How many times has Jack gotten permission from the President (whomever that happens to be) to undertake some crazy mission, then there's a change of heart and/or coup d'etat and Jack becomes a rogue agent?

Also, in the "24"-iverse, has there ever been a President and VP who were both 'good' at the same time? i.e. one wasn't trying to undercut the other and/or part of an evil conspiracy.

Season 1 - Jack was in some ways rogue throughout the season, I guess.
Season 2 and 3 - I don't recall something happening to have him go rogue, but the seasons blur...
Season 4 - Chinese consulate attack.
Season 5 - he had no choice but go rogue, the President was eeevil.

Season 1 we knew pretty much nothing about the President and VP, so maybe they were both good - or at least neutral.

It's shocking that a constitutional admenment eliminating the vice presidency hasn't passed in the 24 universe.

Its even more shocking that 24's writers decided to do a direct reference to the ending of the movie Dave.

Also, if Jack didn't plan to have the CTU follow him to the chinese after going "rogue" I would have loved seeing him splatter Schorder's brains against the car window. I'm amazed that Jack even had to threaten Ricky Schroder considering that by now he should have realized that Jack is psycho and you shouldn't screw around with him.

There is also the fact that he might be jacks replacement for next season :-p.
This seems to be the first time that the terrorist attacks ended wayyy early. I don't think i like the 4 hour mini crisis, especially not the end the season.

Thsi came to me in lue of recent current events. Did they ever explain why the first terrorist at the beginning of the season was asian? It just seemed wierd.

No, but when you think of the timing of the Chinese guy's call (which took place the moment the nuke plot was foiled) at the end of last weeek's episode I think they might have been foreshadowing that the chinese were going to be involved in this season's plot.

missed the last 4 episodes for various reasons, finally caught this one tonight.

huh?

No more nukes, no more Russians, no more terrorists?

Now it's all about Audrey and the Chinese?

Did they just majorly rewrite the season, dropping one storyline completely and start another one?
