No spoiler review.

Of the 3 movies this is BY FAR the best dramatic movie in terms of plot and character. It really felt like someone went "I want to make a really good solid movie....and put some zombies in it" rather than "I'm going to make a zombie movie...and throw in some plot".

So for me, this movie was the best of the bunch (and I recently rewatched the other two so I have a fresh perspective). Further, this one felt like a good sequel, continuing the story but also evolving the narrative in a way that just made sense to me.

But that said, if you are looking for just a sit back killing zombies horror movie...your expectations might not be met. That's what happened with my friends group, the ones that liked solid plot movies loved this one, and my friends that were looking for a summer popcorn zombie horror movie were disappointed.

Watched it this past weekend.

Mostly enjoyed it, but was a little underwhelmed. I felt the pacing was a bit off, and didn’t really have much emotional investment in the characters.

Ralph Fiennes was excellent, but that’s kind of a given.

Felt more sympathy for the humanity of the infected generally, although I think one scene overdid that - if you’ve seen the movie you can probably guess which one.

The very last scene was verging on Pythonesque for me.

Looking forward to the next movie (“The Bone Temple” iirc), as they were shot back-to-back. I feel I won’t have a full appreciation of this one until I’ve seen the second half.
