2e PHB vs. 2e PHB Revised

Is there any real difference? Which one gives better value for money (considering that the revised is $1 more than the original on RPGnow)? Does the revised version introduce any compatibility issues with modules designed for the original?

The revised one is more spread out, and has better art. In terms of rules content, there is virtually no difference - some minor errata have been included, but that's all.

The only real issue you might find is that page references to the PHB are, of course, different depending on which version you have.

I preferred the revised one.

I had the original PHB and the revised DMG, and it was a bit annoying that the combined index in the DMG was "wrong" where it gave PHB page references.

Of course, if you don't have either DMG its not an issue.

I thought the art in the revised was even worse than in the original. I prefer the layout and print size of the original one.

I also vastly prefer the art and layout of the original version. As others have said, the rules are the same.
