2nd level character's starting GP

Taking the starting gold values from the DM's guide, is this the cumulative amount, or do you also add your starting cash?

A couple things:
1) That is total, not cumulative
2) Printing that value and its source is an iffy thing due to copyright reasons (its not Open Content). As long as someone does not print the whole table, a quote of one value should be safe, but character creation rules were one strategic thing WoTC left out of the SRD so we have to be careful about it.
