(3.0) Polymorph Any Object Save

Asked this before, with evenly split opinions -- here's a poll version. In 3.0, the polymorph any object spell has a save of "Will negates (object) (see text)" and the book says it's "as polymorph other" (although 3.0 SRD has self-contained text)... but polymorph other has a save of "Fortitude negates".

So if polymorph any object is cast on a creature, does it get a Fortitude or a Will save? Any place this was previously discussed would be of great help. (Definitions below from 3.0 SRD.)

(Object): The spell can be cast on objects, which receive saving throws only if they are magical or if they are attended (held, worn, grasped, etc.) by a creature resisting the spell, in which case the object gets the creature's saving throw bonus unless its own bonus is greater. (This notation does not mean that a spell can only be cast on objects. Some spells of this sort can be cast on creatures or objects.) A magic item's saving throw bonuses are each equal to 2 + one-half its caster level.

I don't like it, but it's as polymorph exept as noted. The new save is noted, and not restricted to objects only. I'd probably house rule it as fort, because will makes it too powerful.
