IC Thread

The message came in the middle of the night as a dream to the leader of your society: a call for the best!

Seems that there is a new threat to the south, and a magic user has called on your people to provide a champion to face this threat. The details are scetchy and the rewards more so, though the mage that sent the message has offered 500gp to those for just hearing him out. Only one person from each society was asked to attend, and since you have the greatest potential in your generation, you were the one that was offered this opertunity.

You are to meet at the Silver Tower, in the heart of Greyhawk, the neutral center of Oreth, at an appointed time. Thus you find your self outside the twenty story tower during that annointed time. The tower seems to be made out of steal, though there are no windows, seems or blemishes in the polished surfaces of the circular tower. There is only the Tower, the door leading inside, the shops that surround the square the tower is in... and three others that must have also heard the call and come.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to the Power Game thread. This one is the exact opposite of my Classic Dungeon Crawl thread. Here are the character creation rules:
  1. Create a 1st level character using the races and classes from the players handbook
  2. Use any of the SPAT books, or any feats from the Forgotten Realms setting in creating your character
  3. Use Nadaka's DiceBox to make your rolls for your character
  4. Abilities will be made by rolling 4d6, rerolling 1s and 2s once, replacing your lowest roll with an 18. HERE. In this example I rolled all 6 stats coming up with 16, 14, 14, 17, 11, 17. My lowest roll was the 11, so it would be replaced with an 18 for 18, 17, 17, 16, 14, 14: a 64 point character... silly? Yes, it is, but there is a reason that you are the best at what you have been taught!
  5. Start with max gold for your class
  6. Subraces of Dwarves, Elves and others can be used as well as other races as long as their ECL is no more then +3. You will still start out as a 1st level character... it'll just be much longer till you advance.
  7. ANy questions/concerns, please feel free to word them.

The first four people to COMPLETE their characters will be the ones to play. Thank you!

I'd like to use the following character sheet to make characters:

Special
List any special abilities or miscellaneous information that doesn't fit anywhere else on this character sheet. You can include animal companion stats, familiar's benefits and stats, horse/steed statistics, etc.

Write at least two paragraphs of character background and history here. Try to take advantage of using this section to make your character interesting instead of just a "video-gamish" list of D&D statistics. But don't write so much that it makes people's eyes fall out, keep it focused and stick to the highlights.

If you are updating your character after completing part of an adventure here in this forum, add a paragraph in here that summarizes some of the things that have happened so far, like a short diary or adventure summary from your own PC's perspective. If the character has earned any experience points, this is a good place to make a note of them too.

Write a paragraph that describes the characters personality, manners, attitude, motivations, likes, desires, goals, aspirations, fears, habits, quirks, and similar things. Thinking about that stuff and writing it down will help you role-play much much better and your games will become more fun for you and everybody else playing with you. Who knows, your role-playing might help you win an Academy Award someday.

Write out another paragraph with details describing the way your PC looks when first encountered. Make him/her unique enough so that your character isn't just another boring face in the crowd. Also be sure to describe all your clothing colors and materials so that everyone isn't walking around looking like clones that bought duplicate Adventurer Outfits from the exact same clothing store!!

Armor (worn, ??wt) ??gp optional
Robe (worn, ??wt) ??gp optionally continue for each item below

Boots or Slippers (feet, ??wt)
Other minor accessories (location, ??wt)

Waterskin- water (backpack, ??wt)

Coins- ??gp, ??sp, ??cp (pouch, ??wt)
Gemname- ??gp (pouch, -wt)
Gemname- ??gp (pouch, -wt)
Other pouch contents (pouch, ??wt)

Remove any items from this sample list that the character doesn't have. Keep a blank line between the seperate categories (main clothing, belt things, shoulders/back, accessories worn, jewelry, backpack contents, pouch contents) to help organize the character.

The equipment listed should show where everything is usually carried during "hands-free" situations, such as when sitting in the tavern drinking an ale, or climbing up a rope in a dungeon, or carrying your unconscious companion's body back to town to be healed. Even though the character may typically carry certain equipment in his hands, writing your character sheet like this will help visualize where everything goes during any hands-free situations that come up.

Welcome aboard, Valmont. Just know that if 4 others complete their characters before you do, then they'll get your spot. I'm looking forward to seeing your character!

Velmont, thank you for placing your character int he Rogues gallery. There is only two issues I see with it: How would he have gotten invited to the tower where this advneture starts? And secondly, you have 4 to many skill points. Other then that, he looks to be well on his way to becoming an Elemental Savant!

MeepoTheMighty: Perhaps not, for this is another extreme. He may have (and he may not) an exact idea of what a game should be like, and both of my games are on extreme ends of a 'normal' game.

The skills was a cut and past error, correction done.

For the elemental savant, well, I never meant to hide that. ;)

For why he is in the tower, let me think about it.

I have a question, the Spell Caster Prodegy give +2 Int to all casting things, is this include to my starting spells (3 + int modifier)?

Why, yes it does!

Fine, in that case, I'm missing a spell, I'll choose it soon.

I have written the reason why he goes to the tower.

Welcome Ranger John! All we need is two more people to get this game started.

Come on, one and all! It'll be fun, but not unless you choose to take the plunge and join!

Cheers!
