3.0's "Magic of Faerun"; still relevant?

While I'm no great fan of the Forgotten Realms setting, I believe in mining every source for whatever I can use. I loved "Magic of Faerun" when I got it, not only for the tons of new spells but just the general look of it.

But my main question is does do the spells in this work in a 3.5 game just as well, or would the bulk of them require re-working? Anyone have any experience or knowledge of this?

I haven't had any problems with the book in my 3.5 game. I do not own any of the 3.5 FR books to know if any of the items spells or feats have been updated. It doesn't get as much use now as players are sticking with other books more then it, but that's just players moving to the new stuff and not really reflcting on MoF.

A bunch (but nowhere near all) of the spells and items (and possibly prestige classes and feats and whatever other stuff there is) are revised in Player's Guide to Faerûn. Other than that (and even that's not a major issue), Magic of Faerûn is still a very good book for 3.5.

There are plenty spells listed in PGtF (FR 3.5 book), which simply refer to the 3.0 version (many of those from MoF). Funny enough Kiss of the Vampire is one of them, I still cannot believe, that they think this spell is somewhere near balanced. ;)

The PrCs from MoF that were not updated to 3.5 are generally still interesting and useful in 3.5. Of course, the giantly overpowered one (Incantrix) was updated and strengthened in PGtF. When I heard they redid the Incantrix, I told the person who bought PGtF, "Oh, so they finally nerfed it down to size?" "No, they took out some of the sort-of useful powers and replaced them with better ones."

Heh...thank goodness I have real interest in the PrC's!! It's really just the spells I'm interested in (even the magic items don't really appeal to me much. I do agree with Thanee about Kiss of the Vampire....what were they thinkin'?

Do you mean you have no real interest? I kind of liked the Master Alchemist, and I really liked the concept of the Mystic Wanderer.
