[3.5 Cleric] Grrr guess I missed this part...

Grapeshot

First Post
Ethreal Juant is now a 7th level spell in 3.5 up 2 spell lvls from a 5th level cleric spell.

I have a level 10 Cleric and it's probably my favorite spell.

Err, drat?

Really, though, I'm a big fan of clerics, and I don't really have any problems with the changes they've had.

Come on, they're freakin' clerics. Just about the most powerful base class out of the game, depending on how you look at things. A few alterations isn't that big of a deal.

Yep, that nerf sucked. On the other hand, I never saw why clerics got this spell two full levels before wizards. It was an unnecessary discrepancy.

No worries, though, my favorite cleric spell is righteous might. +8 Str, +4 Con, +4 natural AC, Large size, DR 15/evil? Booyah!

That's a little out there. It seems that WotC R&D values plane travel abilities much higher than I do.

One more thing: a word of advice when converting to 3.5.

Read your spells very, very carefully. Don't assume anything works the way it used to. For instance, blade barrier, death ward, holy word, insect plague, neutralize poison, righteous might, and spiritual weapon all work differently now. Status, ethereal jaunt and etherealness have changed levels. Deathwatch is now an evil spell.

Take nothing for granted.

Heh. No kidding. I'm currently in a campaign where the two main pc's are a Paladin (me) and a Cleric. 3.5 came around, and the Paladin got another smite and a few more goodies, and the Cleric's favorite form of attack got even more massive. Booyah indeed!

No kidding. The cleric I'm playing is now only casting a few special purpose spells I've read closely and noted the difference. Everything else is devoted to Cure/Inflict spells, except domain slots. When I level up, I'm going to take fighter levels. When I die I'm going to go with an easy class, like fighter, maybe barbarian.

Fortunately my other game is still 3.0.

Don't forget the duration of all the 2nd level buff spells went from hours to minutes.

3.5 clerics and druids rule, man! :) I'm not anywhere close to a super munchkin, but my girlfriend and I took on 3 frost giants with my Clr10 and her Dru10 and we kicked their butts!

I use both ends of a flaming frost quarterstaff and had attack bonuses of +21/+21/+16. The giants got rocked.

Oh yeah, beware the new insect plague, I think it sucks rocks.
