D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 fire a crossbow from the back of an eagle.

I'm going to back off, at least partially, from my last comments, and plead a bit of ignorance.

Just because I don't know of any good way for a character, operating in plain sight, to continually get ranged sneak attacks, doesn't mean there isn't one. There are a lot of people here far more knowledgable than I on this kind of tactic.

Can someone educate me a bit? Is there a way to get SA damage at range once combat has started?

Can it be done when opponents know where you are?

Note: IMO it's hard to justify a Hide check when on the back of a moving Eagle. You can't claim the Eagle itself for cover, and you can't claim intervening concealment like branches and greenery because they'd conceal your targets from you, and you can't SA at a concealed opponent.

I think the Phase weapon enhancement makes all your attacks treat enemies as flat-footed. Possibly wonrg, based on it's exact wording.

Simplest and most classic way to get all day ranged sneak attacking is the ring of blinking.

Of special note, since the ammunition ceases to be affected by the blinking magic once it leaves your crossbow, it doesn't have that annoying 20% chance of going to the wrong plane.

Are you sure? I mean yes obviously once the arrow is loosed it stops blinking, but what if you released while you were on the wrong plane?

I was thinking about something you posted early on, about a Strength of 6.

Reduce Person will drop that to a 4.

According to the SRD, your Light Load will be 13 pounds or less. Medium load will be 14 to 26 pounds. Heavy load will be 27 to 40 pounds.

Then there's this...
SRD said:
Bigger and Smaller Creatures: The figures on Table: Carrying Capacity are for Medium bipedal creatures. A larger bipedal creature can carry more weight depending on its size category, as follows: Large x2, Huge x4, Gargantuan x8, Colossal x16.
A smaller creature can carry less weight depending on its size category, as follows: Small x3/4, Tiny x1/2, Diminutive x1/4, Fine x1/8.

So as a Tiny creature your Light Load will be 3.25 pounds or less, Medium will be up to 6.5, and Heavy will be up to 10 pounds.

Also, according to the SRD, the smallest/lightest Bag of Holding in the book weighs 15 pounds, all the time. That is, 150% of your maximum carry load.

Just some facts to consider with regards to your plan.
