Now, one possible interpretation could be that.. YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY THE BOOKS IF YOU HAVE 3.0
If you have the bookd download the SRD
If you dont have the books then get the new ones. Quite a few books get reprints down the years, noone obliges you to buy them. Treat 3.5 as a reprint, download and print off the SRD.
This will cost you next to nothing, and you can still chose not to do it if you dont like it.
But hey, my 3.0 books are dying at the bindings so Ill probably gt new ones soon anyway
And the rules are quite a bit tighter, buffs dont as matter much when you remeber they never stacked with stat improving items anyway.
