D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 knowledge skills

Chronos Flame

First Post
Hey I have been toying with something for my new character for some time. He is not a class that has access to all knowledge skills as class skills nor is he a bard. Roleplay-wise he is a scholar though and I want to reflect that. His int is only 14 but the way I really want to reflect it is in know skills. I only have 2 skill points per level that I dont have to spend on other things and only one knowledge is a class skill. Is there any feat or the like that can give me boosts on know or make all know skills class skills or something?

The Eberron Campaign Setting has the Education feat. It makes every knowledge skill a class skill for you, for every class you take, and gives a small (+1 or +2, I forget) bonus on two knowledge skills of your choice. There is nothing at all about it that would restrict it to the Eberron setting. If you don't have the book, it's in the crystalkeep feat database.

Ravenloft's Heroes of Light (or was is Van Richten's Arsenal) has the True Scholar prestige class which is accessible at CL3.

Is there any chance you'd consider taking a couple of levels of another base class? Because the Factotum, in Dungeonscape, would be right up your character's alley, in terms of flavor and scholarly knowledge. And you gain all Knowledge skills as class skills, and 6 Skill Points/level (plus your INT bonus, of course.)

If you're an Arcane caster capable of casting 2nd level spells, the Spellsword Prestige Class also gives you all Knowledge skills as class skills, but this may or may not be helpful. The class in itself isn't a bad one.

Parinho7 & StreamOfTheSky have the best solutions: Able Learner and/or Education. Those are the feats that allow you to gain all Knowledge skills as class skills.

While not exactly on topic, there's an item in Magic Item Compendium that, after you consult it (for I believe 10 minutes) grants you a bonus to your Knowledge check -- could be handy in the right situations.

Last but certainly least, Jack of All Trades will give you 1/2 rank in every skill (including the Knowledge skills), which would always allow you to make a Knowledge check, but without much of a boost...

Education gives +1 to two knowledge skills of your choice when the feat is taken, it does not increase. Also education appears in the Dragon lance setting, as well as Eberron.

Also in the Forgotten Realms.
Due use the crystalkeep database as SOTS suggests. IIRC there has been a couple of variants, although I suspect that only the latest version of the feat will be noted in it.
