D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Monk/Fighter?

The Souljourner

First Post
12 Levels of Monk (+9 BAB, Greater Flurry of Blows)
8 Levels of Fighter (+8 BAB)

Attacks:

+17/+17/+17/+12/+7/+2

Wow.

And the nice thing is, most of the good monk abilities come in the first 12 levels. (Only important ones missing are the spell resistance (only level +10 though) and damage reduction).

Of course, missing some speed and barehand damage, but still, you get access to Weapon Specialization and Greater Weapon focus, and 5 fighter feats and 2 extra BAB, which gives you an extra attack.

That's not too bad.

Better in my opinion to take 16 levels of Monk and 4 levels of fighter, boosting your saves by another +2 across the board, and you still get weapon specialization. But either build is quite effective.

Let's hear it for UNIFIED ATTACK BONUSES again! Thank goodness they fixed that annoying problem.

Yeah, definitely glad they changed that. It's a little sad that the monk doesn't get his nifty -3 progression, but being able to multiclass is awfully nice too, and 3 attacks at your highest attack bonus is awesome, plain and simple.

I think I also like the monk 16/fighter 4 build a bit better. In fact, that's what I plan to have my first new character work into. ;)
