[3.5] Oriental Adventures

Nope, although it should be pretty minor, considering that classes have changed and so on. There was a little bit of discussion at Wizards' boards.

I can only hope that the lack of information is a sign that they will revise the book in the near future, although I wouldn't bet on it.

I hope the OA revision (if there is one planned) would include leaving out Rokugan. Hehehe. At least that would be my dream revision. :p

Don't worry, all you *bleeping* Rokugan fans. AEG will probably update their IP material ... as soon as they're finished promoting Spycraft and Stargate SG-1.

I don't think a lot of stuff needs revising. The core classes still work fine, and noone's complained about any particular class having got the shaft or whatever. Just change the class skills to match the 3.5E set and away you go.

Some of the spells might need revising. In particular, a lot of Conjuration spells don't have saves in 3.5E, and you might want to do something similar for OA spells. You might also want to take the opportunity to beef them up into the bargain; spells like ice knife, hail of stone, fire shuriken, and fatigue are pathetic given their level. Other spells like remove fatigue are rendered obsolete.

A few PrCs might also need work, especially the more funky ones like the tattooed monk or blade dancer. Although the Singh rager is actually looking less uber now, given how the barbarian got beefed up.

I personally believe they will not update OA. I was at the WOTC seminar about 3.5 at gencon, where they announced the updated Psionics handbook. The WOTC people said that this update was the only 3.5 formal update they would be doing, along with the handout. Essentially everything else would just be left at 3.0. Sorry guys. But you never know if there was enough outcry, etc. ?

Mine too. I would replace Rogukan material with new Greyhawk material, which would include Mahasarpa. A few months latter, Kara Tur could be re-introduced in its own book.

Realistic, I think it is too much wishful thinking.

I'd rather they not go back and re-release 3.5e versions of all the major books out there. Psionics makes sense, as it gives them a chance to fix the system and bring it up to a power level comparable to the core classes. But for the rest of the stuff, give me a PDF web enhancement like they did with the conversion guide. Tell me what feats to tweak, skills to change, adjustments to monsters, and what spells are nerfed and I'm a happy camper.

I don't think that they should re-release all 3.0 major books. However, as you pointed out in relation to the Psionics Handbook, which you think is underbalanced in relation to the other books, there is a problem with Oriental Adventures. A sizeable part of it is dedicated to a setting not owned by Wizards. As such, they could use the opportunity of a revision to replaced this part with something new.

Actually, I'd rather they stick to the retro original format, stick to Kara-Tur (just enough info to start off as a standalone campaign setting; with a future detailed supplement that would tie in with the rest of Forgotten Realms).
