D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Psionics.

I have the 3.0 psionics handbook and I wanted to know what people considered to be broken in the book. I know that thrall seems to be overpowered as it is an epic spell for the wizard.

Well, I'll be damned! I always thought it was a new augment since the power was reprinted in Complete Psion...

Still, it's a remarkably bad idea ;)

Not really. The only reason to be concerned about being able to do it as a move action would be if you could teleport up to someone and attack/cast/etc. so you surprise them with a nova, but since you can't act after DimDoor that's not really a problem.

Move action Dimension Door is all about doing something and getting out of Dodge - not about teleporting in somewhere and laying waste, since you can't do anything after manifesting it until your next round.

It's really not that bad given the "can't do anything afterwards" caveat.

True. I still feel it sets a bad precedent. It's like a magic item granting a second swift action per round. I.e. it breaks one of the unwritten rules of the game that endangers the careful balance of actions in a round.

hey guys I dont want to burst bubbles here but what the big deal of "move action" D Door power augment? It adds 6 points to the cost, so thats the point equivelant of a 6th/7th level or higher level power, couldnt we all find 6th/7th spells/powers that dwarf this? Not to mention but has everybody overlooked the simple fact that quicken power also adds 6 points.

Lets say your a 17th PsionFission (7th egoist) 13 pts, 1 rd/level, creates another of you albeit 2 levels lower, this duplicate shares/splits your power pool and has access to all your powers as if you were 2 levels lower.
=2 powers round
add schism on both of yourselves?? you and your duplicate
=4 powers round
now add on quicken power to both you and duplicate and to one side of brain
=6 powers round
both you and duplicate and both sides of schismed brain use quicken power
= 8 powers
is this right? do we have a Nova nightmare?

The 'big deal' is, that there is nothing else in a hundred source books that allows something similar.

That actually 'helps' to increase the nova effect, i.e. burning your power points in no time at all, leading to the dreaded 15 minute adventuring day (or rather, as in this case a 30 second adventuring day).
