D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Reflex Saves and Conditions Question

SRD disagrees.

Combat Reflexes simply lets you make additional aoos. It doesn't let you make an aoo where you couldn't have made one without the feat.

COMBAT REFLEXES [GENERAL]
Benefit: You may make a number of additional attacks of opportunity equal to your Dexterity bonus.
With this feat, you may also make attacks of opportunity while flat-footed.
Normal: A character without this feat can make only one attack of opportunity per round and can’t make attacks of opportunity while flat-footed.
Special: The Combat Reflexes feat does not allow a rogue to use her opportunist ability more than once per round.
A fighter may select Combat Reflexes as one of his fighter bonus feats.
A monk may select Combat Reflexes as a bonus feat at 2nd level.

Ok, I misrtead it.

So, a rogue (or other sneak-attack-capable character) who has the Combat Reflexes feat and is flat-footed and is in range of an enemy who is either flanked or flat-footed can use his sneak attack while flat-footed provided that enemy does something to allow an attack of opportunity.

It's something of an improbable set of circumstances, but yeah. I'd let that one go through. Seems legit.

Actually, is there any way a flat-footed character could provide an attack of opportunity?

I didn't check the raw bc I am late, but if someone grapples him and moves him it could work ? Or bull rush.

A flat footed person, pretty much by definition, doesn't have an action to use to draw someone else into provoking an AoO. If they did, they wouldn't be flat footed.

Consider, however, the Rogue's special ability Opportunist.

Start of round, enemy charges the flat footed Rogue, because he looks squishy without his Dex bonus.

An ally steps into flank and strikes. Rogue uses Opportunist, which allows him an AoO on an adversary whenever anyone else hits them, to not only take his AoO, but adds Sneak to put the icing on the cake.
