D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5]Strand of Prayer Beads

Am I the only one who found the new description and pricing of the Strand of Prayer beads confusing?

Now, the standard strand contains the Bead of Healing, the Bead of Karma, & the Bead of Smiting, correct? It's priced at 25,800.

Now, they have some somewhat strange rules for reducing the price by removing beads. Unless I was just really tired when i read this, it said to remove 20,000 for a Bead of Karma and something like 16,800 for a Bead of Smiting. If you did this, wouldn't the price for the Bead of Healing be the owner giving you 11,000 with the bead?

Am I just reading this wrong, or is this just messed up. Any help on interpretting it?

Edit: Got home to my book. Fixed the name and the prices. Still confused, though.

The price is 20k to low. If you take the strand and remove the healing bead and the smiting bead you have a free bead of karma ... since that bead costs 20k, the standard strand of prayer beads should cost 45800.
