As noted by Dandu, a Succubus can become a Paladin of Honor. See D&D Fight Club: The Succubus Paladin.
One of my favorite combinations lately is the Ascetic Mage feat with a couple levels in Paladin. Divine Grace applies like normal, but thanks to Ascetic Mage if the character has Monk and Sorc levels, the character uses her Charisma instead of Wisdom for AC. Both saves AND AC out the wazoo.
Also: If you have a high-Charisma Cleric, Divine Metamagic becomes all the more powerful.
Looking at the PHB, the Paladin states the creature's alignment must be Lawful Good. Keyword is alignment. Type and subtype don't matter, and even though a creature's entry might say "Always (something)", that's mainly for flavor. A character has the option of changing alignments through sheer force of will.
