D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Weaponmaster

I would just like to point out that the two classes to not share the same name. The OA class is the Kensei and the CW class is the Kensai

I don't think that this is an Intentional distinction.

I think if they wanted to have another Weapon Master PrC, they'd have released it by now. There were several good places for that so far. Complete Warrior, Underdark (Drow noble houses usually have a "weapons master", though that might not be exactly the same), PGtF....

The way I see it, Weapon master and Kensei were the same class bevore, and that doesn't change until they say that it isn't like that any more.

I am not sure what you point is here the Kensei has not been redone for 3.5. The 3.5 Kensai is a different class with a different name that gives different abilities.

There's a difference in the spelling, and a for an e. Don't be silly, I don't think they did that to distinguish the classes.

While this is being discussed, is there any suggestions on what to rename the ki abilities? The class is cool, but they don't fit the flavour of my game.

YMMV. IMHO, the CW Kensai is ... ehh, not a good enough replacement for the Kensei (which is the 3e Weapon Master -- corrected version from Sword and Fist) in OA, just as the CW Samurai is not a good replacement for the Samurai in OA.
