No Sir, didn't like it

My group got a couple of the books, and we aren't real miniature based as a group, so after a few weeks of grumbling and not liking it, we switched all the way back to 1st Edition ADnD. Our games are more story and event driven rather than combat a lot of the times, so it's been a good switch for us. Most of us had agreed that we liked 3.0 when it came out, although that didn't include everyone in the group. But none of us liked the changes in 3.5.

Me neither. I still don't have them. Has it really been a year?

Nope; actually, as of July it will have been a year (Third week, to be precise). However, some people did get copies early and such...

* (edit) I think this is especially bad for FR players.
If you play 3.0, more or less you have to live with the books published before the revision, otherwise you will buy books with are not fully compatible, and you'll have to "retro-adapt" with 3.0.
If you play 3.5, you STILL have to buy a FRCS, a Magic of Faerun, a Monster of Faerun, and/or old regional books, for some important information, only that you already know that only part of those book will be usable - except that you have to pay all of it.

From a customer perspective, it's a very bad result.
The only books you need are the core books and the FRCS. Anything else is optional. Really the only things you "have" to do in this life are die and pay taxes. :)

I'll echo what everyone's saying about the changes being good. And, a year?!?!?

I'm quite happy, as are the fine folks I play with on Saturdays. I don't regret buying the 3.5 core books, nor do I feel the need to adopt a plethora of house rules. Nothing has come up rules wise that I or my players feel is glaringly wrong.

On the whole, quite pleased with 3.5

I'm tempted to change the ranger class as I'm not keen on the animal companion or d8 hit die.
Note that they had animal companions in 3.0 too, only it was hidden away in their spell list (since you use animal friendship to get a companion, and it just happens to be on their spell list).

I like the 3.5 rules. I think they are an improvement of 3.0, and have succeeded in their goals of improving the rules and streamlining gameplay.

I like the 3.5 rules better.

It would have been nice not to buy the 3 books again, but there was no perfect solution, and they did put nearly all the changes on the web for free (I still don't have the 3.5 MM actually, I use the SRD for prep; another guy in my group has it though.).

I hope they keep 3.5 as the current edition for a few years, I want to get good use out of htem.
