Oh sure, now you guys tell me this. No, we didn't go to the seaport. What's in it, anyway? We'd been telling our daughter that she was going to get to see fish, so not seeing fish would have just crushed her. We didn't figure that she would have cared so much for boats.

Well, she might have seen fish in the seaport, but they'd probably be dead.

The seaport is a receation of an 19th century New England seaport town, with lots of boats, craftspeople working, and various port town things going on. http://www.mysticseaport.org/
Some of the boats my brother helped build or repair are there, which is kind of cool. If you ever get back there, it's worth going to.

I've spent a lot of time docked at the Seaport, working on a couple different ships. It's a very cool place.

Though the tourists don't ever see it, one of the best assets of the Seaport is its research library. They have a HUGE collection of old ship's logbooks, plans, drawings, artwork and other papers going back 200 years. Invaluable resource.

The Munson Institute is based here too -- a summer graduate level program in maritime history, but open to regular folks just seriously interested in learning. Very good.

I watched movies in my first of two three-day weekends back-to-back That's the way things work for the state; Memorial Day followed the next week by Jefferson Davis' Birthday. This weekend, I'm taking Firday and Tuesday off, driving up to visit my uncle and aunt for the weekend, then having that extra day to rest from the trip.
