3 New Races..

First Post
These three have been sitting in text files on my computer for a while, and I'd like to see them fixed. I think they're all overpowered and I'd like some feedback. This is really long, so try to stay with me:

Cassan
===========
Cassan are well known in the realm of men. Their beauty and personality allow them to rise quikly in the public eye. While few are considered "powerful", many seek to work behind the scenes in a govenment. Many seek to expand their understanding of the world, and do this through adventure.

Personality
-----------
Cassan are very tolerable, to say the least. They seldom make judgements of others. Because of this impartiality, and their innate ability to sence lies, they make very good judges-good for the innocent party that is. They act however they deem is most apropriate for the situation at hand, though they rarely act rashly. They are, however, typically very loyal to friends and allies and loathe broken promises.

Physical Discription
--------------------
Cassan apear nearly exactly like Humans physically. They stand about 5-6 ft. tall and weigh anywhere from 125 to 250 lbs. Their skin shades vary just as much as humans, though their eyes are almost always a shade of blue or grey. They also have no eye white-the white is the same color as the iris is. They live longer than humans, reaching adulthood at about 20 and living about one-and-a-half to two centuries.

Relations
---------
Since they can hardly be told apart from humans other than their attitudes, Cassan are almost always treated simply as a human would be. If Humans are "Everyone's Second-Best Friend", then Cassan are just a bit higher on the scale.

Alignment
---------
Cassan tend toward no particular alignment, except maybe neutrality. Each Cassan has his own views.

Cassan Lands
-----------
Cassan tend to live anywhere Humans do, and are usually not found far from humanity. Their origin is completly unknown, even to the best scholar among them. Some who see themselves as "Superior Humans" have carved out sizable kingdoms, but these are very, very rare.

Religion
--------
No god dominates Cassan life. They have even less religious devotion than the typical human, though they do sometimes join religious orders as a "learning experience". Still, few feel the need for any divine guidance.

Language
--------
Cassan speak common. They typically learn other languages, including obscure ones, and they are fond of sprinkling their speech with words borrowed from other tongues. Orc curses, Halfling culinary terms, Elven musical expressions, Dwarven military phrases, and so on. However, some of the above mentioned Cassan, those who feel that they are "Superior Humans", have spent time working on a new language, just for their race.

Names
-----
Just as humans do, Cassan tend to borrow names from other races. They do, however, tend towards names that they have discovered on their journies. Many Cassan whose parents were adventurers or historians or any occupation which is comparable, have very strange or antique names.

Adventurers
-----------
Most Cassan adventure to gain knowledge. Some are driven by want of wealth, and others by lust for power, but most simply seek to understand. A few rare Cassan adventure as a means to discover the history and origin of their race.

Cassan Racial Traits
===================
* +2 Charisma, +2 Intelligence, -2 Dexterity: Cassan are very outspoken and beautiful, but tend to be better at dodging blame than dodging blows.
* Medium-Size: As Medium-Size creatures, Cassan have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
* Cassan base speed is 30 feet.
* +1 Racial bonus on the DCs of all spells cast: Something in the forgotten history of the Cassan has granted them with more powerful magical attacks.
* +2 on all Will Saves: Cassan are very resiliant mentally.
* +2 Racial bonus on all Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, and Sence Motive checks: Cassan learn from birth how to use speach and manners to avoid any possible conflict.
* +2 Racial Bonus to Disguise Checks when impersonating a Human: Cassan apear almost exactly the same as Humans to the untrained eye.
* Favored Class: Sorcerer. A multiclass Cassan Sorcerer class does not count when determining whether he suffers an XP penalty for multiclassing. Cassan have long dabbled in the arts of the arcane, and see it as their legacy.

Half-Behemoth
==============
Decendants of the long-dead race known only as Behemoths, these few remanents of their long dead ancesters are still something to be feared. Hailing from the frozen mountains and tundra of the East, the Half-Behemoths are extremely powerful. Believed to be a long-forgotten offshoot of mankind, the Behemoths were as close to gods as any common race has ever achieved.

Personality
-----------
Half-Behemoths are slow, soft-spoken, and dangerous. Most are less intelligent than the common Orc. A half-behemoth may hear a joke, and not understand it for a week or so. They also keep mostly to themselves, perfering the company of others of their kind, though still, they would rather be alone. However, even with all of this seeming feebleness, many Half-Behemoths can work out complicated plans, given time. When angered, a Half-Behemoth is likely to behave in the manner of a cyclone. Few dare to cross them.

Physical Discription
--------------------
Half-Behemoths are not really "half" behemoth. The race has been dead so long that is likely that most living remanents of the race have less than 1/100 of a Behemoth heritage. Still, that small quanity of ancient blood has granted them with power beyond the reaches of standard men. A typical Half-Behemoth stands about 6-7' with the tallest measuring around 7'2". They weigh around 200-300 lbs. (mostly due to their increased mucle mass). Almost every male half-behemoth wears a thick beard. Among females, hair is kept short, compared to other races at least.
Half-Behemoths live for an extremely long time. However, many are infertile, and the population has had a hard time gaining any foothold over the years. Typically, a Half-Behemoth lives about 500 years and reaches maturity at around 30 years.

Relations
---------
Half-Behemoths are revered by some, ridiculed by others, and hated by few. Because of their similar personalities, Half-Behemoths and Half-Orcs get along extremely well, although a Half-Behemoth is a bit more reserved. Dwarves and Elves see the Half-Behemoths' power, and lack of grace, and generally feel indifferent towards them. Among humans, many Half-Behemoths of extreme proportions are criticized at younger ages, but are much sought after allies when older. Still, a Half-Behemoth's Solitary nature leads many to live alone, as hermits.

Alignment
---------
Half-Behemoths are typically Neutral Good. They don't tend towards law or chaos, and would perfer to be left alone. They don't, however, see any reason to behave badly towards someone without a reason. There are, as always, exceptions.

Half-Behemoth Lands
-------------------
The legacy that the Behemoths left their ancesters is not much: an icy wasteland of unknown size. The majority of the kingdoms of the East are headed, at least militarily, by Half-Behemoths. They co-exist with the few other races of the cold tundra and hills without conflict, on average at least.

Religion
--------
Long ago, the greatest gift of eternity was bestowed upon a great Behemoth king. His name was Gauralcyn, and today, he is the God of the Half-Behemoths. Almost all Half-Behemoths revere this Diety/King. Of all Half-Behemoths, however, adventurers are the most likely to seek other divine aid.

Language
--------
Half-Behemoths speak common. They typically learn other languages, including obscure ones, and they are fond of sprinkling their speech with words borrowed from other tongues. Orc curses, Halfling culinary terms, Elven musical expressions, Dwarven military phrases, and so on.

Names
-----
Half-Behemoths typically use standard human first names, but all have an earned family name. Most were achieved in ages long past by the parents of todays Half-Behemoths. Each Half-Behemoth seeks to earn his or her own family name, and many adventure as a means of doing so. Typical family names may include: Bladesinger, Rockcrusher, Giantslayer, Ogremaster, and others.

Adventurers
-----------

Half-Behemoth Racial Traits
============================
* +4 Strength, -2 Intelligence, -2 Charisma : Half-Behemoths are exceedingly powerful, but are slow and reserved.
* Medium-Size: As Medium-Size creatures, Hal-Behemoths have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
* Low-Light Vision: A small portion of the Behemoth's nearly mystical vision still remains in the Half-Behemoth.
* Half-behemoth base speed is 20 feet: Half-Behemoths are slower because of their size and stature.
* Favored Class: Fighter. A multiclass Half-Behemoth's Fighter class does not count when determining whether he suffers an XP penalty for multiclassing. Half-Behemoths are well suited to a life of combat, and many train in melee arts at an early age.

Gralun
===========
When Humans and their kindred races are grouped together, the gralun obviously stand out. Possessing an innate resistance to magic has allowed this race, another off-shoot of humanity, opposite in power to the Cassan, to thrive in the world of adventuring. They are physically powerful and greatly misunderstood. Gralun do, however, thrive when among half-orc compatriots. Like the Cassan, the Gralun have no real understanding of where they came from, but to the Gralun, it doesn't really matter.

Personality
-----------
The Gralun have a personality similar to that of the Half-Orc. A Gralun does not make a very good people-person. They are often brash, and would much rather fight than talk. Still, when they are won over, they make admirable friends, so long as their personal feelings are not too badly violated.

Physical Discription
--------------------
gralun apear a lot like Humans physically. They stand about 5-6 ft. tall but weigh anywhere from 150 to 250 lbs., due to their increased muscle mass. Their skin shades vary just as much as humans. They perfer a much more "Rugged" look than most civilized humans. They are well known for their broad jaws and shoulders. They live shorter than humans, reaching adulthood at about 15 and living to about 50 years old.

Relations
---------

Alignment
---------
Gralun tend toward no particular alignment, except maybe neutrality. Each Gralun has his own views.

Gralun Lands
-----------
Gralun tend to live anywhere Humans do, and are usually not found far from humanity. Their origin is completly unknown, even to the best scholar among them. There are few Gralun-lead kingdoms in the known world.

Religion
--------
No god dominates Gralun life. They have even less religious devotion than the typical human, though they do sometimes join religious if properly convinced of a certain God's power. Still, few feel the need for any divine guidance.

Language
--------
Gralun speak common. They typically learn other languages, including obscure ones, and they are fond of sprinkling their speech with words borrowed from other tongues. Orc curses, Halfling culinary terms, Elven musical expressions, Dwarven military phrases, and so on.

Names
-----
Just as humans do, Gralun tend to borrow names from other races. They do, however, tend towards names that they have discovered on their journies. Many Gralun whose parents were adventurers or have more exotic names.

Adventurers
-----------

Cassan Racial Traits
===================
* +2 Str, -2 Intelligence, -2 Charisma: Gralun are strong and powerful, but not very bright or comanding.
* Medium-Size: As Medium-Size creatures, Gralun have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
* Gralun base speed is 30 feet.

* Favored Class: Fighter. A multiclass Gralun's Fighter class does not count when determining whether he suffers an XP penalty for multiclassing. The Gralun love to study combat, as they are well suited to it on average.

I will go into more detail later but here is my gut feeling:

Cassan= ECL +1 (phsyical traits are fine but the other pluses are to much)
Half-Behemoth= ECL 0, the reduction in speed cancels out the extr +2 str
Gralun= This one is tough. SR is good but I don't know if it good enough to make it an ECL 2. If you removed the SR I think you got a 0.

I think that Trentonjoe is right in some respect to the SR, if you wanted to make the Gralun a more 1st lvl playable race, but still wanted to stick with the idea of having their innate resistance to magic, simply give them a +2 or +3 to Saves vs. Spells.

What do you think Trenton? Would that maintain a 0 ECL?

Graluns- If you remove the SR you end up with slightly better half orcs. YOu basically end up trading barbain for figther favored class and a +2 to saves vs spells for darkvision and orc blood. Seems to me Graluns get slightly more.

With that being said, here is my opinion. I tend to use the PHB races as ceiling. If PC races are better than a PHB race I feel they should be have ECL modifier. I think these guys should be a +1. However, they are not a real strong +1. I see no problem in bumping the saves vs spells to +3, I think that would make them a worthwhile +1 ECL. Another option may be to give them a free weapon focus. Maybe improved unarmed strike at first level? They seem pretty militant maybe these could work?

If you leave SR in I think they are a +2. Again I feel they aren't a real good +2 but they get in that "drow" family of ECLs. SR 5 + level might be an option for +1 ECL.

GOD DAMN I HATE IExplorer!!!!

This post was much longer but the Gods forsaken browser crashed before I posted the reply, so here's an overview:

The Cassan and Gralun were created back in the day when magic was rampant: Cassan as Super-Casters already infused with magical energies, and the Gralun were later created as an attempt to counter-balnce with the Cassan to keep them from getting overly powerful. Hence they are not normal natural creatures, and ussually feel no conection to a god.

Cassan ECL +1? Coolness. Works for me.

Gralun ECL +1 with SR = 5 + Class levels? Sounds good.

Half-behemoths are on their own. They were created just because they sounded cool, and filled a niche in my campaign world.

Another of my races is at Fula

Thanks.
