D&D 5E (2024) Exploring Eberron 2024 -- Gnolls and other gnew character options

It's like they're not talking to each other.
Correct, the third party creators and WotC don't coordinate rules development.

On the rules side I remain sad that every goblin version in 5e is uninteresting when compared to the other goblinoids. This one being basically a halfling is sad. The official version doing tiny HP more damage is pathetic compared to the hobgoblin superhelp or bugbear's surprise attack.

That is because this isn't official WotC. This is Keith Baker's 3pp company who made this using DMsGuild and just got it added to Beyond as partner content. So what Keith did was present alternatives to the goblinoids from MotM, not replacements. WotC design had no hand in this.
I think I hadn't fully appreciated this -- thanks. And so of course it means the great (Gnolls, better Bugbear) will still need a (almost certainly less good, if at all) WOTC version...

Yeah people seem to think it's first-party content for some reason- is it just because it's an Eberron product and there was a recent 1pp Eberron release? Or is it listed as a 1pp on DnDB?
