D&D (2024) D&D 5e 2024 Monk Handbook

I agree, Beastmaster is one Ranger subclass that requires you to have Ranger as the main class, otherwise it will fall back hard and fast.
Yeah, which is too bad because it’s a natural fit for MC Druid. I just let the pet scale by character level, personally, or make it a sidekick.

But this is all tangential.

One Monk thing I haven’t scoped out yet for 2024 is whether or not Monk/Moon Druid is still awesome. I mean it’s THP and special senses, and if you go far enough into Druid there is flight, and even a wolf has higher base speed that you’re adding Unarmored Movement onto, but the real juice previously was having bear HP to burn through while sacrificing no capability (other than the sacrifice of monk levels but spellcraft makes that up).

Perfect Focus - When you roll initiative and have less than 4 Focus, you have 4 focus. This is so weak it would be mediocre on low levels, even with improvement that makes it more useful, this high and next to Discipliend Survivor it looks like a bad joke.

Monk's Focus - You gain Focus Points equal your Monk level, that you regain on short or long rest. You also get a bunch of cool abilities that you can agument by spending focus. Sadly you suffer from dependency on Focus that makes this your most important resource. You're not in any fight for the long run and you want to short rest often. The abilities get buffed at level 10 with heightened Focus, raising this to low Green.

So, I’m not sure how Perfect Focus can be ranked so low, considering the dependence on Focus, and the fact that there is no limit to uses of Perfect Focus, meaning that between recovery, normal number of focus, less dependency than in 2014 (you get more for free), and Perfect Focus, at that level you never lack Focus for at least the first two rounds of combat. Every combat. You have no reason to hoard focus from that level on, because even if you blow it all and end up in another fight, you still have the ability to do 4 things, whether that’s movement, 3 extra attacks, stunning strike, or a subclass thing. Considering how much a monk can do to enemies in two rounds spending focus, that is very good.

Also, could you possible put sections into spoiler blocks?
