[3.P] Shadow Walk or similar

You are a shadow. How much noise does a shadow make? Besides, you get +15 to Stealth. Maybe that's not inaudible but definitely more silent than normally.

Did I say you were not helpful? Your ideas weren't what I'm looking for but at least you tried. What's unhelpful are posts that are telling me that I'm homebrewing when I'm very clear that I'm not, or bashing the best idea so far, or simply arguing with me over nothing.
Going back to your earlier post:
when told you are wrong
How exactly am I wrong when I'm just asking something? And I'm pretty sure I know better than anyone what I want so I can't be wrong about that either.

what you are looking for doesn't exist
Or you just don't know that it exists. If it doesn't exist then no one will answer my question and I'll figure out "Hey, it doesn't exist, oh well" and I'll deal with that. I hate posts that amount to "It doesn't exist, so stop asking!" Again, Shadow Body disagrees. None of you apparently knew about that one so you're not as knowledgeable as you think.

becoming belligerent when (...) questioned further
That's because I'm getting pissed off. It's irritating when instead of getting help I have to argue with snobs and know-it-all's (not talking about you guys, you aren't rude and trollish as some people I had to argue with).

Keep in mind that shadow body is not official pathfinder, as it's from a third party publisher. It is 3x official as long as the game allows psionics.

I searched my complete spell document which includes every 3x spell and haven't found one that does what you want. I'll do another search since I like to be complete, but I'm not optimistic. You could try looking at Prc's and see if there are any class abilities that work.

Another alternative might be a spell that makes you really tiny. Is there one in [notranslate]Pathfinder[/notranslate]? You could literally hide in an opponent's pocket. (That's pretty scary, given how hard you would be to spot and the lack of any negative impact on spellcasting.)

I'm not sure I understand. What does allowing Psionics have to do with a power being official? Something doesn't cease being official if it's not used. It's just not used.

Not what I'm looking for. And I'm not intending it to be used for following enemies.

The Forge of War, an Eberron book, p.155 has an incorporeal construct called an Umbral Spy.

The Umbral Spy has a supernatural ability called Shadow Bond, which requires a successful touch attack, will DC 13 to resist. If the touch succeeds, the Umbral Spy disappears into the subjects shadow, only visible to True Seeing.

-Craft an Umbral Spy and order it to do this to your target.

If you want a PC or NPC to accomplish this:

-Use the Shapechange spell to assume the form of and gain the abilities of an Umbral Spy.

-Use the Polymorph Any Object spell in conjunction with the Assume Supernatural Ability feat. to assume the form of an Umbral Spy and then use this ability.

-Play a character that is already a Construct, such as a Warforged or 10 levels of Green Star Adept PrC, and use Polymorph spell in conjunction with the Assume Supernatural Ability feat to assume the form of an Umbral Spy and then use this ability. (Warforged assumes a Living Construct can polymorph into a Construct, not certain if that's true.)

-Cast the Body of War spell, than Polymorph. I have no idea if the second spell cancels the first, but if you can get this by the DM, more power to ya.

...I'd like to add that the more information about what you are trying to specifically accomplish and if you're asking as a DM, for a specific PC, as part of a story plot, etc, etc, will make it easier for us to help you.

Also, being more patient with other people's responses will also make it easier for us to help you. People here tend to give the best answer they can come up with, even if it does not fall within the specific parameters of what you are asking, in the hopes that they can accomplish what they think your intention is, even if they don't use the method you requested. Feel free to make liberal use of the phrase, "Thanks, but that's not exactly what I had in mind, let me clarify more specifically with what I'm trying to do...."

Enjoy!

Unfortunately I'm using The Giant's polymorph houserules, so none of those spell tricks will work. But the monster ability is a good find. I'll have to somehow give it to the character. Maybe I'll even use the whole monster if it has other nice abilities.

What I'm saying is all I want to accomplish.

I was doing that (maybe minus the "let me clarify" part, but there isn't much I can add), but then posts like "You're homebrewing" or "It doesn't exist!" started.

Sometimes the exact thing someone is looking for doesn't exist.

The options are to do something else that may have a similar effect (like the Rope Trick cloak idea) or design your own spell.

I'm generally of the mindset that in 3.x, you can find SOMETHING somewhere in official material that accomplishes what you want, but the reality is, the options are limited. Vast, but limited. Otherwise Homebrew wouldn't exist.

But yeah, get yourself an Umbral Spy, They do that.

What are the Giant's Polymorph houserules?

It's irritating when instead of getting help I have to argue with snobs and know-it-all's (not talking about you guys, you aren't rude and trollish as some people I had to argue with).

If you think offering multiple suggestions isn't help just because they don't happen to do exactly what you're after, no problem. This snobby know-it-all will cease and desist.

You might want to avoid the name-calling, though- that is one of the few things that are verbotten on ENWorld.

Good luck to you.

Of course someone will get offended even though I clearly said I'm not talking about them. And where did I say that you weren't helpful? Sigh. But feel free to be personally offended if you can't help it. I don't mind.
